TARGET PharmaSolutions is seeking a REDCap developer to support its growing number of research programs. This role will be primarily responsible for REDCap custom feature development, integration with internal applications, other improvements as needed, and maintenance. New features will be developed using REDCap’s External Modules framework. Additional responsibilities to include installation and application administration in both local and cloud environments.

The TARGET model organizes a community of stakeholders, including pharmaceutical partners, key opinion leaders, regulatory agencies, and patient advocacy groups, around a specific disease to generate real world clinical data and insights about the natural history of the disease, including treatment outcomes.


What you would do:

  • Create custom modules to support business goals using REDCap’s External Module framework
  • Integrate REDCap with (internal) custom and off the shelf applications
  • Apply your in depth understanding of REDCap design to recommend and support policies concerning data availability, security, and governance
  • Develop best practice guidelines for application development, validation, and deployment
  • Architect and maintain integrations of REDCap with other platforms such as our biorepository and EHRs like EPIC, Greenway, and Veracity
  • Support existing REDCap infrastructure on Linux: Apache, MySQL, and PHP servers in AWS
  • Help monitor the performance, security, and integrity of REDCap and other software applications
  • Communicate with teammates, faculty, and researchers to help answer real-world questions


We are looking for people who:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Have at least two years of experience as a REDCap developer or administrator
  • Are comfortable with PHP and Javascript, MySQL/Oracle/SQL, Linux, Apache/Ngnix server
  • Understand REDCap audit trails and access controls
  • Understand software development integration concepts such as APIs, hooks, plugins
  • Know how bits make it from bare metal in a data center to a browser in a coffee shop
  • Feel strongly about high-availability, code formatting, consistency, and adherence to standards
  • Write documentation to help the next person that touches your code
  • Like unit testing because it helps you sleep better at night
  • Have a passion for writing great code with the desire to achieve and exceed goals
  • Are personally accountable for your work and love creating value for your users
  • Yearn to learn new tools and build create solutions to complex problems
